for anatomy, im learning all the muscles and nerves currently. very scary. so many names to remember.. so far i can only rmb the more significant ones. eg: the scientific name of the 6 packs is called rectus abdominis..
achilles tendon. there is a greek mythology behind it. achilles' mother was a goddess and she received a prohecy of her son's death. thus she dipped his into a river, which was supposed to make him immortal. however she held him by the ankles hence this part was left vulnerable. in a war, achilles got struck by a poisoned arrow right on this spot. the proper name is calcaneal tendon..
gastrocnemius: lusandra said " just say xiao tui LA. " lol
oh yea. gluteus maximus. anyone dont know? hahaha
our prof told us a weird thing too. do you know why married couples wear the ring on that 4th finger? if you dont, try this:
- put both your palms together, with all the fingers touching
- the middle fingers rep you. yea. im not telling you to point at ppl. bend them downwards such that only this pair is pointing downwards
-try moving apart your thumbs. [the thumbs are like your parents. quite easy to separate since they will leave you when they pass away]
-try moving apart your index fingers [they are like your siblings. when everyone grows up, they will split eventually to pursue their future]
- then your pinkys [ like friends.. quite easy to split too]
finally try separating your 4th fingers...
haha. interesting hor? but actually anatomy is really dry.. but must ku zhong zuo le.. the prof is organising a trip to Bodyworld but i guess i wont be going.
