good to know

the NRIC number usually starts with a S, followed by 7 digits and then a reference letter.

this last letter is used to check whether the number is valid.. eg : somebody may have made a fake passport w/o knowing that there is actually such a system in place..

assuming the numbers are X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7 ,

multiply them corresponding to 2, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and add up the total.

( Σ= 2X1 + 7X2 ....... + 2X7)

if the first letter is T, add 4 to Σ

next, divide the total by 11. and check the letter using the remainder obtained.

10 - A
9 - B
8 - C
7 - D
6 - E
5 - F
4 - G
3 - H
2 - I
1 - Z
0 - J

this is what i learnt from my lecture. all credits to NTU: MAS 801's lecturer. Prof. Sinai Robins.

im so scared of being sued or something.. lol. the online version is slightly different. its involves deducting the remainder from 11. but then the conversion table is different too. anyway its just for fun.. by the way, you got any idea what NRIC means?.. its national regist. id. card.. in case it didnt occur to you before

change frequency...

mon, i told lu to help me refill water because my throat felt a bit sore..by evening, i was feeling very uncomfortable. even swallowing my saliva hurt.. ytd and today morning, i was still suffering.. slight fever, sore throat and feeling cold. i was walking around in my white jacket even under the sun. but now im much better. miraculously. maybe its because of the medicine xp recommended. or the tcm medicine my father poured for me. or the luo han guo my mum bought. or the starfruit juice i drank. OR because the bacteria/virus decided to find another host. HAHA.

scary ~~ every lecture i go to, there seem to be at least 3 or more ppl coughing or blowing their nose... so just be careful during this period..
